The Heart

Posted on April 22, 2019 by DD

Knowing God’s Word guides us in knowing His will is, which is far superior to following our own heart, that is, our own will, desires, passions and emotions.

Jeremiah 17:5 Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord.

Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.

Jeremiah 17:9–10 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.

* By the way Jeremiah was faithfully preaching God’s Word and was being persecuted for it, causing him to pray for deliverance. Jeremiah 17:14-18

So much for “prosperity preaching” and “word of faith preaching!”
